DAYTIME television darling Elaine Crowley looks set to enter the fashion world with her own line of eponymous evening wear, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The stylish TV3 host has collaborated with popular clothing brand So Amazing to release a collection of ready-towear evening dresses.

Speaking to the MoS, Elaine revealed she hit on the idea after finding it a daunting and difficult task to find appropriate gowns for formal occasions.

‘I am launching a collection of evening dresses for size 12 up,’ she said. ‘I find it next to impossible to find dresses for occasions. So Amazing have been dressing me for a while now and they designed a few bespoke looks for me. So we decided to collaborate on a range of stylish evening wear.’

And curvy Elaine has been working hard with the fashion brand on perfecting her new range which will be called The Elaine Collection. ‘We are just signing off on designs and are waiting for the samples to arrive,’ she said. ‘Hopefully by the end of the summer the first collection will be available.’

In recent months the presenter has debuted some of her favourite looks on the red carpet, including the IFTAs in Dublin’s Mansion House and the VIP Style Awards in Dublin’s Marker Hotel. Giving fashion lovers a taste of what is to come, her style to date boasts complimentary yet flirty necklines, with some dresses featuring pockets for a fun and unique twist. The 40-year-old has always been very open and honest about her perceptions of body image and weight.

She said: ‘I remember when I hit 30, I was looking at myself in the mirror thinking I was fat and saying to myself, “Oh look at that lump and look at that bump” – and I was only lovely when I was 30. I was a size 12.

‘I looked great. And I still wasn’t happy with myself. And do you know what? Today is as good as it gets, there’s no point beating yourself up as you’ll regret it afterwards.

‘I put off doing so many things in my life because I wasn’t happy with how I looked, which is so silly.’

So with her own daytime chat show pulling in the viewers and now her own fashion range, Elaine surely has a lot to smile about.
