Naomi Chiang is a brilliant Nevada-based scientist struggling to bring up her autistic son, Colt – a reclusive but equally brilliant coder. When Naomi discovers a way to make damaged limbs regenerate themselves, she thinks she’s helping all of humanity; but the US government sees military potential in her invention and is determined to stop her sharing it with anyone else – forcing her and Colt to go on the run from a terrifying army of drones. This is an exciting literary thriller with plenty of interesting ideas by Galway man and former Toasted Heretic singer Gough – though you can’t help wondering if it might work best as a computer game.
