OPRAH, POSH, ROYALS... TREACY’S HATS TOP THEM ALL
THERE was more than one hat tip to feted Irish milliner Philip Treacy yesterday, as his eyecatching creations were worn by no less than 20 guests at the royal nuptials. Celebrities from all corners of the world chose a hat by Treacy, who holds an OBE for services to the British fashion industry. US chat show host Oprah Winfrey was given a choice of two hats by the Galway native, plumping for a sweeping, brimmed number with sculpted flowers. Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, was resplendent in a pale rose-feathered design – having also worn one of Treacy’s creations for her own wedding to Prince Charles. Another Treacy fan, Kate Middleton, was stunning in a wide-brimmed design. Harry’s cousin Lady Kitty Spencer, opted for a sculpted green fascinator, while her mother Victoria Aitken was fascinating in an edgy trilby style. Designer Victoria Beckham topped off her look with a navy headpiece and, getting ahead with flower power, was actress Charlotte Riley.
