Coleen Rooney: If Wayne wants to play in US then he’ll be going on his own!

- By Katie Hind

THEIR ten-year marriage has often been turbulent.

Now Coleen Rooney has decided not to join husband Wayne in the US if he signs a €340,000-a-week deal to join Washington football club DC United.

The Mail on Sunday understands that Coleen, 32, will stay in Britain for the sake of their children, moving into a £20million, six-bedroom mansion the family are building in Cheshire.

That will allow their eldest son Kai to continue his football training. The eight-year-old is said to be ‘exceptionally talented’, but a source said America could not match the ‘highly talented coaches’ who are developing his skills at Manchester City’s Academy. ‘Wayne and Coleen would feel awful if they did anything to affect his chances of realising his dream,’ the source added.

Rooney’s lucrative contract with the new Major League Soccer club is said to be ‘90% done’ and, once signed, he would begin playing this summer. Coleen and the couple’s four sons will then spend time in the US capital, returning to Britain in time for the school term and the beginning of Kai’s football season.
