SNAP UNDER PRESSURE WITH THIS RUGGED LITTLE WONDER
Panasonic’s latest addition to the Lumix range, the FT7 is designed for those who are planning on getting adventurous this summer. It’s waterproof, shockproof and dustproof and it’s even pressure-resistant up to 100kg.
It has a 20.4 megapixel high-sensitivity sensor and comes with a 28mm wide angle lens that zooms up to 128mm. If you’re kayaking or biking it also has built in Optical Image Stabilisation.
There’s a Live View Finder for composing your photos when it’s not practical to use the rear-mounted threeinch screen. If the action is happening quickly, you can shoot 10 frames per second. However, if you can’t afford to miss that shot of a lifetime, you can use the super-fast 4K Photo to capture at 30fps and the camera will extract the best frame and save as a photo.
There’s wifi connectivity for easy sharing to Facebook and other social sites and the camera can be charged using USB battery packs. Then, there’s some real surprises that you just don’t expect on a camera. There’s a built-in altimeter and compass to help you cross country, it will work even in freezing conditions and it can even be used as a torch.
This is a camera designed for taking the best photos possible in the most challenging situations. The FT7 arrives just in time for the holidays, in July, and is priced at €450.
