the little things don’t seem to be going right for Ulster rugby this season. Before yesterday’s Pro14 semi-final meeting of Leinster and Munster, the crests of all the competition’s competing teams were paraded around the RDS pitch as part of the pre-match ceremony. Unable to work out the source of the jeering from sections of the crowd, the on-field organisers were left red-faced when they realised that the flag bearing the Ulster crest was being displayed backwards, much to the enjoyment of both sets of supporters. Sometimes, you just can’t catch a break.
