THE exit poll by RTÉ provided an insight into the religious breakdown of the Yes and No voters.

YES VOTERS: 68% – Catholic

HOW OFTEN THEY ATTENDED RELIGIOUS SERVICE:

■ 1% – several times a week

■ 15% – once a week

■ 15% – once a month

■ 32% – a few times a year

■ 37% – hardly ever

NO VOTERS: 88% – Catholic

HOW OFTEN THEY ATTENDED RELIGIOUS SERVICE:

■ 11% – several times a week

■ 50% – once a week

■ 13% – once a month

■ 17% – a few times a year

■ 10% – hardly ever
