Garda probe as man’s body found in f ield

GARDAÍ are treating the discovery of a 20-year-old man’s body in a field in Co. Louth yesterday morning as suspicious.

The body was discovered on land off the Ardee Road in Dunleer by a man walking his dog. The emergency services arrived at 8.45am and cordoned off the area.

The victim has not been named but is believed to have relatives living in the area.

Gardaí investigat­ing the death have spoken to residents in a nearby housing estate. The field where the body was found is used as a shortcut by people accessing a nearby industrial estate.

A post-mortem was carried out yesterday to establish the cause of the man’s death, with the results yet to be released.
