GIVE A BUG A HOME

Although you can buy bug hotels, you can create your own home for insects with just a log of wood or fallen branch. I keep logs from larger branches (which I’m increasingly pruning as the trees become ever more mature) and then stack them to very slowly rot down – not so much a bug hotel but more a complete wildlife city that’ll accommodate a range of beings as diverse as fungi, beetles (pictured below) and field mice.
