Jastine funeral delayed
FUNERAL arrangements for murdered student Jastine Valdez have been delayed to allow family members to return home to the Philippines to pay their respects.
Jastine’s body was flown back to the Philippines on Tuesday where she will be buried, however no date has been given for the funeral. The Honorary Consul of the Philippines for Ireland, Mark Congdon, said: ‘It’s been delayed due to family coming back from Italy and Singapore. Nothing is clear at the moment.’
He added that Jastine’s ‘shellshocked’ parents are planning to return to Ireland next year, as it is where their memories of her lie.
