Arrest over pub killing
A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a father of four in Cork on Friday.
Patrick O’Donnell, 36, died after being assaulted in Willie Andies pub in Mitchelstown at around 11pm.
It is understood the youngest child of Mr O’Donnell – from Stag Park, Ballindangan Road in Mitchelstown – is just three months old.
Armed gardaí, and an ambulance were called to the pub following the assault, which is understood to have followed a row. Mr O’Donnell was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to Cork University Hospital for a postmortem.
