Sugrue’s success is not a surprise
WHILE Carlow and Longford correctly grabbed the headlines in Leinster, the job which John Sugrue is doing in his rookie season as manager of Laois has gone under the radar.
This is a county which was perceived to be unmanageable for most of this decade, and now he has taken them to within 70 minutes of a Leinster final.
I am not in the least surprised because he showed his potential when he was our physical trainer when we won the 2007 All-Ireland under Pat O’Shea.
