‘Dubs will drag best out of us’

-

JAMES O’DONOGHUE doesn’t warm to the idea that it’s his rough luck to be a Kerry footballer during a golden era for Dublin football. ‘No, because every year or generation probably has a team that are going to be standout, so you just have to get to that level and try and overcome them. You are never going to have a case where you walk the All-Ireland, so Dublin have been outstanding. They have some very admirable qualities, some great athletic qualities and I’d say it’s almost a good thing that we are in that, because it’s going to drag every drop out of us I think from now on, rather than us saying we were unlucky.

‘They’ve got the most out of themselves as well, so maybe that’s why they are just a little step ahead – they’ve dragged every drop out of each other and really come over the line in a couple of games by a point, and in replays. Big wins, like. Almost career-defining wins. We need one of them now.’
