Out and NIAMH

From a glam selfie to boozing in bushes, it’s Amy

HIS show The Cutting Edge is taking a break for the summer but the Diary can reveal that Brendan O’Connor will soon be back on screens with a new TV series.

RTÉ sources say O’Connor will be hosting a new programme but insisted that he won’t be replacing Miriam O’Callaghan, who recently revealed that she is taking a break from her summer chat show. AGEISM doesn’t just affect women in the movie world – Patrick Stewart says his career has also hit a brick wall. At 77, the legend, left, says he hasn’t been offered a role since November. In typically poetic fashion, he said: ‘A fascinating, immensely enjoyable and creative life has suddenly come to a halt…’ HAS Amy Huberman hit a rough patch? Our photo below shows the actress hiding in some bushes while drinking from a bottle of spirits with comedian Aisling Bea.

In fact, Amy herself posted the photo on Instagram and it’s from a scene from her new RTÉ comedy, Finding Joy, which she wrote and stars in. The cast also includes Laura Whitmore.

And Amy looked rather more glamorous in the picture above, a selfie with Laura.

She added a note to the drinking photo: ‘We are available for any top modelling for naggin/ horticulture campaigns.’

The six-part comedy is currently filming. It follows a single woman, Joy, after a painful break-up who begins a search for happiness in all the wrong places.

Laura Whitmore, better known as a TV presenter, has recently dipped her toe into the acting world with a stage role.

RTÉ has described the series as ‘warm and irreverent’. Amy has become a regular face on RTÉ thanks to legal drama Striking Out and her smaller role in the comedy Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope.

Laura also posted some footage from the comedy that shows her in a karate suit attacking a man.

Amy is also hoping that Finding Joy will help her finally break the US market. NIALL HORAN has pitched up down under where he is a guest judge on The Voice Australia. And who chose the former One Direrectioner to help them out on the show? None other than Delta Goodrem, pictured with Niall.

Delta, of course, dated Brian McFadden many moons ago, after he had split from his first exwife Kerry Katona and before marrying his now second ex-wife Vogue Williams.

Ex-Neighbours star Delta who is a huge hit as judge on The Voice was only delighted to welcome Niall to help her pick her winning team.
