EARS OF A BAT

-

We lose the ability to hear high frequency as we age, making it difficult to make out conversation in crowded places. But a larger outer ear, like a bat’s, would funnel more sound down the ear canal. Alternatively, a mobile ear, like a cat’s, would give us greater directional control, allowing us to block out background noise.
