LUNGS OF A SWAN

oUR lungs have two jobs – gas exchanger and pump – which means they are less efficient. A swan has separate sacs to move air and the lungs simply exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. A similar one-way air flow through the lungs would make breathing far more efficient and make us exceptionally athletic.
