NIGERIA

-

Ranking 48. Last time Last 16. Manager Gernot Rohr — the German has spent plenty of time in Africa, managing Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso before taking charge of Nigeria in 2016. They were the first African side to book their spot in Russia when they defeated Zambia in October. They’re a bit like Ajax — some promising young talents… but can they make it out of the group stage? Key man Victor Moses (right) — has excelled as a wing-back at Chelsea under Antonio Conte’s management and remains the most highprofile member of Nigeria’s squad. Expected to employ his attacking instincts without having to worry about the defensive slog.

Rising star Oghenekaro Etebo — lots of exciting young stars in the Nigeria squad but you won’t have heard of midfielder Etebo, who has spent time on loan at Spanish club Las Palmas this season from Portuguese side Feirense. Has 14 caps and one goal for Nigeria.

Prospects Should push for second place in the group, but are an untested bunch and may fall short.
