Ranking 22. Last time DNQ. Manager Heimir Hallgrimsson — promoted from assistant manager to joint-manager to the top job when Lars Lagerback became Norway’s manager after Iceland’s Euro 2016 heroics. Hallgrimsson, a dentist by trade, has continued the feel-good factor by guiding the team to their first-ever World Cup finals.

They’re a bit like Lincoln City — looking to create more cup upsets.

Key man Gylfi Sigurdsson (right) — the Icelandic nation will be desperate for their talisman to shrug off an inconsistent and injury-affected season with Everton. Will be key to everything they do going forward.

Rising star Sverrir Ingi Ingason — not too many youngsters in the squad but the 24-year-old defender, who has 20 caps and three goals, is promising. Will be right at home, especially in the final group game against Croatia, as he plays for Rostov.

Prospects It isn’t going to be the same as two years ago... unless something dramatic happens.
