Martin is in the mix at Dauphiné

SPORT: Dan Martin (UAE Team Emirates) is up to fourth overall in the Critérium du Dauphiné after coming third on stage 6. Astana rider Pello Bilbao won the stage, with overall leader Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) next, 21 seconds back. Martin (above) was two seconds back in third. Going into to today’s final stage, Welshman Thomas leads fellow Briton Adam Yates (Mitchelton­Scott) by almost 90 seconds, with France’s Romain Bardet third at two minutes and a second. Martin is two and a half minutes down.

GOLF: Mikko Korhonen put himself in pole position to claim his first European Tour at the inaugural Shot Clock Masters which saw players penalised for time violations for the first time. The 37-year-old will take a fiveshot lead the final round in Vienna after a sparkling 68. South African Justin Walters is five shots back in second.
