Barnes has not got ad licked

ENGLAND and Liverpool legend John Barnes may choose to regret his means of making a few bob from this World Cup after a negative reaction to his participation in a very strange TV advert. A well-known takeaway food company is behind it all having launched a collection of special (jokey) World Cup plates, one of which features a drawing of Barnes (right). The idea is that fans have the chance to lick the face of their heroes while they eat takeaway watching the World Cup football. The TV ad shows Barnes eating among a sizeable group of football fans who then proceed, one by one, to lick his face (right) and back of his head. Not only weird... it’s appetite ruining, which surely defeats the purpose.
