In an article in last week’s newspaper regarding proposals to put a legal drug injection centre on Dublin’s Merchant Quay, we reported that children as young as five regularly find dirty needles. The principal of the local national school, St Audoen’s, has asked us to clarify that no pupil has ever picked up or found a dirty syringe on school property, as the school grounds are specifical­ly maintained to prevent this.
