Protect online daters

DATING apps such as Tinder have replaced the pub and nightclub as the main meeting point for the young, but they also are a honeypot for predators, who can reel victims in with misleading profiles before brutally raping them.

Unlike other countries, Ireland has failed to see the danger in this and there is no official record of sexual assaults committed after people meet through dating sites. This leaves users, especially women, vulnerable to attack, and the Garda and the Government must move to ensure their safety by keeping tabs on the grim statistics.
