WELL done, Nicola Byrne, for a positive Catholic Church news story last week (MoS, June 17).

Canon Martin Cosgrove from Rathfarnhan parish, who was ordained the week Pope John Paul came to Ireland in 1979, may be the last man standing of his class of six that were ordained at that time, but his enthusiasm for the job still is a real credit to him and others who have stuck it out despite the scandals and failings of the Church.
