Reidy wins red card appeal

-

AS expected, the Clare hurlers received the news they wanted with David Reidy being cleared to play in next Sunday’s Munster hurling final against Cork.

The forward was successful in his appeal against a straight red card issued for ‘striking with a hurley, with minimal force’ by referee James Owens in the last game in the round-robin series against Limerick at Ennis.

Television replays clearly showed the player’s collision with Limerick defender Diarmaid Byrnes was accidental more than anything else.

His case was heard by the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee who found the charge unproven.
