IT isn’t just potato crops that are in danger. The drought-like conditions are having a devastating impact on vegetables grown outside with shortages of broccoli, cauliflower and courgettes also expected.

Paul Brophy, who is Ireland’s largest broccoli producer, said supply problems can also be expected for an array of other vegetables.
