A ministerial grump
JUNIOR Finance Minister Patrick O’Donovan can be grumpy. This week the minister told senators: ‘At the best of times I welcome the opportunity to be in the Seanad. I was here so often it was said I could take up a bed in the Chamber.’ Did he get out the wrong side of that bed? FORMER Labour spin doctor and Barnardos chief Fergus Finlay shared a snap of his grandchildren dunking him in a paddling pool yesterday, raising questions about his use of water during a time of near drought. But he clarified: ‘Worry not, it’s harvested water.’
