PSEUDO-LIBERALS ARE CROSSING THE LINE AND BULLYING THE CHURCH

-

THEY’VE won on abortion, after winning on same-sex marriage. All the major social issues have been sorted – contrary to the interests of the Catholic Church.

But that’s not good enough for Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Culture Minister Josepha Madigan.

They want to go further, politically. Humiliating the Church is now on their radar. They’re now reaching outside the civil sphere into the Church by arguing for women priests. Varadkar is also advocating that priests be allowed to marry. All of which completely ignores the line between Church and State in precisely the same way the Church used to do in the past – and for which they were rightly condemned.

Catholic Church domination of this state was put to the sword by true liberals who wanted the Church to be just one of many voices guiding Irish society, rather than THE voice.

Now, it appears that the Church voice, based on faith, must be silenced.

The Taoiseach clearly sought to position the ban on women priests in the context of equality in the workplace. He must know it has nothing at all to do with the workplace.

He scolds the Catholic Church but says nothing of other faiths, including Islam. He’s picking on the easy target. There’s a name for that – it isn’t liberalism. It’s bullying.
