Kilkenny is saving his talking for the pitch

-

CIARÁN KILKENNY must have felt he was part of the extended Sure Quiz that he was in Croke Park to launch on Wednesday last – is it possible to conduct a 22minute interview without actually talking about the fact that Dublin are chasing a four in a row and that he is in the form of his life? Turns out, it is. ‘Look, at the end of the day we’re just there to play football and it’s up to the administrators to decide where we play,’ he stated.

And what about the decision of former Hill 16 darling, Diarmuid Connolly to jet off to Boston for the summer and turn down a four-in-a-row shot?

‘As a team, we respect his decision to go over to Boston and play a bit of football,’ says Kilkenny. ‘That was his decision and we can just concentrate on what we’re doing within the group that’s there at the moment. Sin é.’

As for the GAA fixing the Kerry and Galway for Croke Park at 4pm next Sunday, a directl clash with the World Cup final?

‘I’m only looking at the Kerry-Galway game. I don’t really have much to say on that.’

Dublin’s chief playmaker is not a Sure thing when it comes to any answer.
