Clare fans are unhappy at ‘treatment’ in Cork
OH DEAR. Is it really getting to this? Munster Council and Cork County Board provoked a Twitter storm last night over the apparent heavy-handed actions of a number of stewards in the aftermath of Clare’s win over Wexford at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday.
A number of images emerged showing hurling fans being manhandled from the pitch after the game.
The Clare Champion tweeted: ‘Clare supporters are “led” from the field, having entered it to celebrate their sides AllIreland quarter-final win over Wexford in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.’
Given the attendance (10, 250 or thereabouts) was quite some way short of what was expected, you’d think every effort would be made to make those who did bother to turn up feel welcome.
