AS the Dáil finished this week, staff at RTÉ were also pencilling in their summer holidays.
And it emerged on Friday that Miriam O’Callaghan, herself filling in for Seán O’Rourke on RTÉ Radio One’s mid-morning current affairs show, will not be in the hot seat tomorrow morning.
It emerged yesterday that Ms O’Callaghan, who will cover Pope Francis’s visit to Ireland next month, booked her own time off months ago.
There was widespread surprise last month when O’Rourke departed on an extended summer break ‘to recharge the batteries’.
On Friday morning, Ms O’Callaghan told listeners that Damien O’Reilly would be sitting in for her from tomorrow.
