promoting his new film Ant-Man And The Wasp, Michael Douglas, far left, revealed an interestin­g U2 connection. It turns out that Douglas was one of the very first guests to stay at the band’s Liffey-side Clarence Hotel – a week before it opened its doors after an extensive multimilli­on euro makeover in 1996. The Hollywood veteran, 73, told joe.ie: ‘I was on a golfing tour with Jack [Nicholson, left] and a couple of other friends and the place was almost ready to open… and Bono said we could stay there, which was pretty nice of him.’
