very fond of the late politician Gerry Fitt, a founder of the SDLP, and I am particular­ly fond of his daughter Eileen and her sister Joan (known as the Missfits). The Fitt family home was burned down by a Provo mob, so I was astonished to see Sinn Féin’s Gerry Adams and Bobby Storey complainin­g about dissidents attacking their homes. As the Provos’ commander in Belfast in 1973, Adams must have been well aware of the attack on the Fitts’ home.
