Is this the end of Ryanair?

-

I WONDER if this current round of industrial action could be the beginning of the end for Ryanair.

Its whole business model has been built on slashing costs to keep ticket prices down but it seems to have hit a dead end now that staff have become increasingly militant.

Up until recently, the perception was that travelling Ryanair wasn’t particularly pleasant but it was cheap and they would get you to your destination on time. Passengers saw that as a good deal.

Now, though, we don’t know how much further the dispute will escalate. Personally, I would not book a flight with Ryanair right now.

And if Ryanair ultimately resolves things by agreeing to better pay and conditions, we’ll see airfares rising accordingly and it will lose its competitive edge. For now, I’m sticking with Aer Lingus. Frank Doyle, Ratoath, Co. Meath.
