Una’s marriage was ‘all over in a matter of just 72 hours’

THE shock split between singer Una Healy and her husband Ben Foden happened in a matter of just three days, as their seemingly happy marriage suffered a major breakdown.

The Saturdays singer announced on Friday that her marriage had come to an end, with her spokesman saying she was in Ireland with the couple’s two children. The Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal that Una, who married Ben in 2012, had been at home in Tipperary until Monday, when she flew back to Ben in the UK to ‘prepare’ for her family’s planned move Stateside.

Rugby player Ben recently signed with Rugby United New York, and the family had been looking forward to a move to the US. Una had told friends she was ‘really excited’ about carving out a new life for herself and her children Aoife Belle, six, and three-year-old Tadhg.

But by week’s end, Una had fled the couple’s UK base, returning to her native Tipperary to avoid the media glare amid allegations of cheating surrounding Ben. According to The Sun newspaper, Una and Ben had a blazing row after she accused him of cheating on her.

‘Everyone was looking forward to the move but Una had become suspicious about Ben’s behaviour. Then this week enough was enough and she just confronted him,’ the newspaper quoted a source as saying. ‘She has now decided it’s over. She’s utterly heartbroken. She thought their marriage would be forever.’

A spokesman for Una said: ‘I can confirm Una and Ben have separated and she’s in Ireland with her mum and kids. There will be no further comment.’
