Thanks for the laugh, Irish Water

SURE enough – as everybody predicted – Irish Water has extended the national hosepipe ban in the middle of a status yellow rainfall warning.

The ban is now to continue in force until the end of August, and the announcement was made on Friday in the lashing rain.

There’s this much to be said for the turn of events, which is that it has at least given us the laugh we were expecting to get.
