Passengers to sue over landing
RYANAIR faces legal action from passengers who were on board one of its flights that made an emergency landing two weeks ago.
Flight FR7312 from Dublin to Croatia was forced to make an emergency landing at Frankfurt’s Hahn Airport after a loss in cabin pressure. Oxygen masks were deployed and the plane made a sudden descent.
Of the 189 passengers aboard, 33 were hospitalised, some bleeding from their ears, with others treated for headaches, ear pain and dizziness.
The flight descended from 37,000ft to 10,000ft over seven minutes, 80 minutes into the flight.
After the incident, Ryanair issued a statement saying the plane ‘landed normally and customers disembarked, where a small number received medical attention as a precaution’.
It is understood that the passengers have been offered a refund on the cost of their tickets, as well as a free flight voucher.
German air accident investigators have already commenced an inquiry into the sudden loss of cabin pressure during the flight.
