Irish tourists warned of killer heatwave
IRISH tourists have been warned of extreme temperatures on the continent as a recordbreaking heatwave hits Spain and Portugal.
This weekend, up to 422,000 holidaymakers will travel in and out of Dublin Airport, with Spain and Portugal our top destinations. However, temperatures in the Iberian Peninsula have reached up to 48C. Three people have already died in Spain from heatstroke.
On Friday, diplomats in the Irish Embassy in Madrid wrote on Twitter: ‘Spain is currently experiencing extremely high temperatures. Please be careful!’
