The summer’s big movers...

-

ALISSON (L’POOL) £67M

HUGE signing. Liverpool have been crying out for a keeper since Pepe Reina was allowed to leave five years ago. The Brazilian, who kept Manchester City rival Ederson out of the World Cup Finals, is considered a world class keeper, so Jurgen Klopp has gone out to get one of the best. Now, can he adjust to the Premier League? Even David de Gea struggled in his first season and Alisson is certainly going to be under a great deal of scrutiny.

FRED (MAN UTD) £52M

JOSE MOURINHO may have spent recent weeks moaning about his lack of spending, but he paid quite a lot for the Brazilian from Shakhtar Donetsk. A box-to-box midfielder who did well in the Champions League, he will look to have a similar impact as another former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder and Brazil team-mate Fernandinho. His arrival could be good news for Paul Pogba, enabling him to get further forward more regularly.

MAHREZ (MAN CITY) £60M

THIS move has been on the cards since Leicester lifted the Premier League trophy. Credit to Mahrez who performed so well for Claude Puel towards the end of last season after the deal had initially fallen through. As a right-sided attacking player, I’m not sure how he’ll fit into City’s team and will have his work cut out to nail down a slot. But he is a tremendous talent who adds goals and assists and gives the City boss extra options for Europe and the Premier League.
