Gazza blames sleep­ing pills for slur­ring on TV show

A SHOCK­ING TV ap­pear­ance by a slur­ring Paul Gas­coigne yes­ter­day has raised new health fears.

Just 45 min­utes into Sky’s Soc­cer AM show, host John Fend­ley told view­ers Gas­coigne had left be­cause he ‘wasn’t feel­ing won­der­ful’. The for­mer Eng­land and Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur star, 51, who has bat­tled al­co­holism and drug ad­dic­tion, is pic­tured below dur­ing the pro­gramme.

He later tweeted: ‘Ha just read some of the tweets some say I’m look­ing well oth­ers say it’s the best they’ve seen me and oth­ers are say­ing i was drunk it’s ev­ery time I’m do­ing well that’s ok I been tak­ing sleep­ing tablets to try to kip that all.’
