FLAGGING UP AN ERROR
AS THE Pope landed at Dublin Airport yesterday sharp-eyed viewers would have noticed a few things that just weren’t quite right.
On Sky News, the words ‘POPE IN ENGLAND’ appeared on screen as viewers watched the Pope disembark from ‘Shepherd One’, the Papal plane chartered for the journey from Alitalia. It wasn’t the only mistake: as the plane taxied to a halt at Dublin Airport it was sporting the Irish and Vatican flags on the front of the plane. However the Vatican flag was upside down. One of the pilots noticed the error shortly after landing and promptly fixed it.
