Alannah wants to put some manners on you
SHE became a household name after starring in both Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model and RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars.
Now Alannah Beirne, 24, is preparing to add another string to her bow – as a deportment coach.
Alannah said her new venture will be a family affair, as she’s going to be working for her well-known mother, Brenda Hyland Beirne, a former Rose of Tralee who is also a joint owner of the Irish School Of Etiquette.
Alannah, from Naas, Co. Kildare, said: ‘My aim is to encourage women to be confident, and I think something that Irish women definitely struggle with a lot is confidence and standing tall.’
The model, who was also a finalist in the recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Search in the US, added: ‘Through my experience I want to show them it’s okay to love yourself and love your body, and to build their confidence and self-esteem.’
Her mother Brenda, who wore the Rose of Tralee tiara in 1983 when she was 21 and was training to be a garda, said she was thrilled to have persuaded her daughter to join her in the school of etiquette, whose motto is: ‘walk tall in life, manners and style.’
Speaking on TV3’s The Six O’Clock Show alongside her daughter, Brenda said: ‘We are branching out... and Alannah’s coming on board as the deportment coach.’
Mother and daughter both played key roles in last week’s Rose of Tralee competition.
Alannah, herself a former Kildare Rose contestant, appeared in the fashion show while Brenda was one of the judges in the contest.
In 2017, Alannah came third in TV show Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model.
Earlier this year she was paired with dancer Vitali Kozmin on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars.
