PREGNANT GLENDA STANDS BY HER DOG

-

GLENDA GILSON is already preparing her dog Yazz for the arrival of her new baby in November. The Xposé presenter, 37, celebrated her fourth wedding anniversary with husband Rob Macnaughton at Lough Eske Castle Hotel in Donegal this month – and they took Yazz with them! Glenda said: ‘After launching the Be Dog Smart campaign for Dogs Trust last year, I’m thrilled to visit again, this time as an expectant mother myself, to help launch their Be Dog Smart Week, which will be focusing on antenatal preparation.

‘It’s so important to educate people on how to introduce a new baby to their family dog so that they don’t feel like they have to say goodbye to their pet when their little one comes along.

‘I’d be devastated if I had to give up Yazz.’

Dogs Trust has received nearly 100 requests from expectant parents and almost 40 from new parents wanting to surrender their furry friends in the past year. They want to stress that having a baby doesn’t have to mean giving up your dog and preparation is key to safe family life.
