CLARE’S first AllIreland since 1914. Sub Éamonn Taaffe hit the vital goal as the Banner edged past defending champions Offaly, 1-13 to 2-8. As supporters poured onto the pitch, Clare captain Anthony Daly told the Banner faithful: ‘There’s been a missing person in Clare for 81 long years. Well today that person has been found alive and that person’s name is Liam MacCarthy.’
