RTÉ will miss Kerr’s analysis

THE familiar Dublin tones of Brian Kerr (below) were missing from RTÉ Radio’s broadcast of Thursday’s Nations League game in Cardiff. The former Ireland manager, it turns out, has signed up with Virgin Media and will play a key role in the station’s comprehensive coverage of the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Nations League. With three live Champions League ties on Tuesdays and Wednesday, Kerr has joined Mick McCarthy as part of the burgeoning Ballymount team. Virgin’s gain is RTÉ’s loss as Kerr is without peer in his perceptive analysis of games and knowledge of players.
