would appear to have learned a thing or two in the build up to the 2006 Ryder Cup at the K Club. Earlier this week, he made 10 phone calls before announcing his Ryder Cup wildcards. He spoke to the four picks, plus six players who missed out — which was in contrast to his own treatment before the 2006 event which was played in Straffan, Co Kildare. The Dane (above) found out that captain Ian Woosnam hadn’t selected him via the television. Bjorn later called Woosnam ‘the most pathetic captain I have ever seen, barmy and not burdened with too many leadership qualities’. Bjorn said on Thursday: ‘I don’t know how it’s hard to make a phone call.’
