Kate’s right - there’s nothing ‘arty’ about posing topless at 15

The Irish Mail on Sunday - - COMMENT -

AFTER posing topless for The Face magazine Kate Moss, right, came to embody heroin chic and was catapulted to the rank of supermodel, aged just 15.

But Kate says that she felt ‘pressured’ into stripping off and that she would never allow her teenage daughter follow in her footsteps. ‘I look at her now, and she’s 15, and to think that I was going topless at her age is crazy,’ she says.

Kate is right, times have changed. When she was a teen, topless modelling was avant garde and a bit arty whereas today, unless there’s an icon in front of the camera, it’s considered tacky and mainstream.
