Ralls should have been off for dangerous lunge

- Chris Foy

NEIL WARNOCK was talking about bad challenges in the build-up to the Cardiff-Man City game but that would have had no influence on Michael Oliver today. All that referees do in the days before a match is plan their own game and then try to referee honestly to the best of their ability. What’s said before a game by anyone has absolutely no bearing on how an official referees.

There’s little doubt that Joe Ralls was lucky to escape with just a booking for a lunge on Ilkay Gundogan.

It endangered a player’s safety and was a red-card offence.
