Harris is on borrowed time

I APPRECIATED Mary Carr’s attack on Simon Harris over his plan for free abortions for all (MoS, September 23).

Harris has become an increasingly ridiculous figure of late. Remember, this is a man who before the 2011 election was pledging his firm pro-life credentials.

Now he advocates for abortion with a disturbing zeal. It seems that he has found a tool to stay popular with liberal voters and journalists, and that the more noise he makes about his plans for abortion, the less attention is paid to the mess that the health service is in.

It’s notable that on his Twitter account, he retains the ‘Together for Yes’ logo on his profile picture, long after the referendum is over. It’s like a little reminder of the good times for him.

He is living on borrowed time. His many failures will soon catch up with him.
