Taylor is given big accolade in Britain

KATIE Taylor’s dominant start to her professional career has seen her pick up another accolade as she has been named the British Boxing Board of Control’s Overseas boxer of the Year for 2018. Taylor will defend her IBF & WBA lightweight titles in Boston’s TD Garden on October 20, against former world champion Cindy Serrano of Puerto Rico. Belfast’s James Tennyson fights for the IBF super-feather title on that card when he takes on American Tevin Farmer. Meanwhile, Donegal middleweight Jason Quigley will defend his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) belt against Freddy Hernandez of Mexico in Fantasy Springs, California on October 18.
