Exeter send out a warning to Munster
MUNSTER’S trip to Exeter for the Champions Cup opener in two weeks looks ver more daunitng after Rob Baxter’s men clocked up their fifth consecutive win with a comfortable 28-17 bonus-point victory over Worcester at Sandy Park. And Baxter believes his side can improve by the time Munster come calling. ‘I’m very pleased with the win and the foundation we have laid down but we are not firing at 100 per cent and we have to shake that lethargy when we are challenged by the best.’
BRISTOL boss Pat Lam suffered his first home defeat of the season when Northampton claimed a high-scoring encounter 45-40 at Ashton Gate. Ireland’s Ian Madigan pulled out before kick-off and though Bristol showed attacking style in their five-try display, Lam was frustrated. ‘We know we missed out on a big opportunity,’ said the ex-Connacht coach.
OSPREYS continued their impressive start to the Pro14 with a 22-8 victory over Zebre at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi. The Italian side had won their last four home matches but Ospreys never looked back after taking an early lead to record their fourth win in five Conference A games this season. Wales fly-half Sam Davies ended up with 17 points comprising four penalties and a drop goal. Luke Morgan got their only try.
